REPORT ON OUR 2010 SHOW
BRITISH CAR & MOTOR BIKE SHOW
The club's 8th annual British car show was held July 25, 2010. It was a partly sunny day until about noon, when it started to rain ... and it didn't stop raining until about 5 p.m. There were about half a dozen cars that deft due to the rain, but the show went on! There were lots of tents where spectators and participants went for cover. At the time the rain had started, the club had just checked 87 cars and motorbikes into this year's show.
Of special note were two cars that were driven long-distance to the show. Ed & Luanne Madak drove from Columbia Station, Ohio, and won first place with their 1969 Primrose Yellow MGC roadster. And, making a return trip to our show, Bob & Gloria Cook of Strongsville, Ohio, were there with their map and photos showing all the places they've driven in their MGB, more than 378,000 miles all over the continent. We also had Stephen F. Dow with a 1964 Triumph TR4 with Canadian plates.
Thanks to club members Karen Hornbeck and John Munch and their helpers for the door prizes and raffle setup. And, of course, thanks to all who donated prizes and gifts. Thanks to Beth Koehler for selling the 50/50 tickets this year. Our winner was Luann Bixler, who took home $160 from the drawing.
This year club volunteers prepared and served the food for the show, and they did a marvelous job. Thanks to Veronica and Gail Decker for heading up the food service.
We enjoyed the music of the Rossi-McGurl Project for the fifth year. The regalia sales went well, and the club signed up five new members at this year's car show.
Congratulations to all of this year's show winners, listed below!
And again, thanks and appreciation to all club members who provided equipment and volunteered to help work the show, especially taking down tents and equipment in the pouring rain. This will be a year to remember -- were you there, or did you miss the excitement? Without all the help and support, the show would not have been a success. Thanks again!
